Don’t let the name of this bar fool you: Yacht Club isn’t a snooty members-only experience. Founded in 2021 by McLain Hedges and Mary Alison Wright, this venue was founded as Denver’s premier ‘anti-club club’: a safe space for drinks enjoyers of all varieties. To cover all bases and ensure this is truly a welcome space for everyone, the bar’s drinks programme is a marriage of myriad different establishments, cherry picking the best elements of natural wine havens, dive bars and cocktail outposts to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Whether ordering a cocktail ‘Club Banger’, such The Last Oasis (vodka, green mango, yuzu sake, elderflower, amazake), a glass of fortified wine or fan-favourite Old No. 7-11 (a bourbon and coke served alongside a hot dog), Yacht Club is ready to satisfy your every need. Hedges and Alison Wright also take their eco-credentials seriously, having implemented a stellar sustainability programme that reuses byproducts and eliminates waste, earning the bar the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award in North America’s 50 Best Bars 2023.
