The Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery, located in a stately historic 1800s-era building in downtown Louisville, is a Bourbon Country destination with one of the best cocktail bars in the city. Located on the second floor of the distillery, the warm, commanding space features a smart assembly of whiskeys and classic whiskey cocktails (curated by famous cocktail historian David Wondrich), in addition to a compelling collection of modern cocktails and alcohol-free options – all served in custom glassware from one of the UK’s best producers, John Jenkins. Under the expert purview of head bartender Dallas White and lead bartender Christy LeCompte, the programem has become a community hub for hospitality industry professionals, locals and visitors alike, with regular masterclasses from international drinks luminaries. Just remember to eat before you go, as the bar is not currently serving food.
