The name sure is attention-grabbing, but what about the rest of this Evans Churchill district dive bar? Surrounded by a white picket fence, the exterior is painted in yellow and green stripes, topped with intricate motifs and a giant Pegasus; not exactly what you’d call subtle. Outside gives way to a black-painted interior lined in polaroid pictures, retro cartoon pin ups and candlelight, in which drinks might be served in a tea cup, tiki glass or something else entirely – because this is a place that likes to keep you guessing. Under a ‘silly shit’ section of the menu, listings include ‘the shirt off our back’ for $100, a set of Killer Whale Sex Club condoms ($15) or the bar itself ($5m, at last check). Owners Sam Olguin and Brenon Stuart are no strangers to the Phoenix scene and ensure that cocktails as creative as everything else continually flow, along with solid, eclectic tunes on the speakers.
