Barcelona’s Paradiso has arrived at Dubai’s lavish Five Luxe JBR resort, bringing with it an injection of high gloss spectacle that such a location requires. The space is off kilter in the best way, with circus-themed motifs, candy stripe and energetic vibes, while the cocktails are designed to be full blown experiences that complement the interiors. The Paradiso Express, for instance, is served in a miniature steam engine beneath a cloud of sesame foam, while the Kriptonite, made with riboflavin and an “electric liqueur”, glows green, with a tongue-tingling Sichuan button garnish. The food is decidedly luxe too – think Wagyu Air Paide and truffle brioche – and combined with panoramas of the Persian Gulf, the experience will unlikely be one you forget.
