Cut by Wolfgang Puck

Manama

The archetypal steakhouse experience

Cut by Wolfgang Puck

On the Pass

Brian Becher

Around the world: One of eight Cut by Wolfgang Puck restaurants worldwide, the Bahrain outpost of the chain founded by the eponymous Austrian-American chef and restaurateur is located at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. The modern American steakhouse serves up premium cuts and 180-degrees views of Manama.

Style and substance: Designed by Waldo Fernandez, Cut boasts the elegance and warmth of palm wood and mahogany. Striking elements include the staircase at the restaurant’s entrance and the chef’s state-of-the-art open kitchen. Providing options for private dining and larger celebrations, the restaurant occupies pride of place in Bahrain’s social calendar.

Who’s cooking? Philadelphia-born Brian Becher is at the helm, having worked at Wolfgang Puck American Grille at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City for six years before leaving the US for the opportunities the Kingdom of Bahrain and Four Seasons offered. The restaurant has been on the receiving end of several prestigious accolades since it opened under Becher’s supervision in 2014.

Spoiled for choice: Cut’s menu features a wide selection of steakhouse classics, from prime dry-aged beef to premium shellfish. But the steaks are, unsurprisingly, the star of the show, whether Australian black wagyu ribeyes or USDA-prime filet mignon. Leave room for Chef Becher’s renowned Philadelphia cheesesteak, though. Open daily for lunch and dinner; the restaurant also serves an à la carte Friday brunch and exclusive menus on special occasions.
