North America’s 50 Best Restaurants launched in 2025. The ranking highlights the best dining destinations across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. North America’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, is the first of its kind: the only ranking covering the region comprehensively.

It marks the first time 50 Best has created a restaurants ranking specifically for the North American continent, and represents another step in 50 Best’s journey towards becoming the ultimate global reference point for the very best hospitality experiences across the globe.

The list North America’s 50 Best Restaurants will be revealed in a live countdown, alongside a series of special awards, culminating in the announcement of The Best Restaurant in North America 2026. The ranking will reflect the best restaurant experiences collated from 300 expert voters – a balanced mix of chefs, restaurateurs, food and beverage journalists, educators and well-travelled gourmets.

The voters, who must remain anonymous, are recruited by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs across eight sub-regions within North America: Caribbean (excluding Cuba and Dominican Republic); USA Northeast; USA South; USA Midwest; USA West; Canada East; Canada Central and Canada West. Find out more about how the voting works.

Unlike other awards, there is no cost for entry, shortlisting or attendance. Any style of restaurant in the region is eligible for votes and restaurants do not have to fit any criteria or tick any pre-ordained boxes to be considered. Voters are simply asked to name their eight best restaurant experiences of any kind, across a two-year polling period.

The second list of North America’s 50 Best Restaurants will be unveiled at a live awards ceremony in May 2026 in New Orleans.
