Gourmet street food in tranquil surroundings

What's it all about? Wild Rocket specialises in Mod Sin, a term created by Chef Willin Low meaning Modern Singaporean. Diners will experience his contemporary take on comfort food found in street hawker stalls. 

What’s the vibe? Very Zen. Just as Low’s cuisine is a mixture of Singaporean with international influence and modern meets traditional, the same juxtaposition is reflected in the design. Concrete counters and floor contrast nicely with the 15,000 wooden batons adorning the walls and ceiling. Tranquillity extends beyond the building into the picturesque location on a hill in Mount Emily Park.

Typical dishes: Dishes are rooted in traditional hawker fare, but have been dressed up with inspiration from Low’s travels. See this fusion in the roast red snapper with tom yum bouillabaisse.

Other ventures: Low has two more spots under his chef belt: a burger joint called Relish (try their blue cheese, poached pear and walnut burger) and the laid-back bar Wild Oats (located on the edge of a lake in the pretty Punggol Park).

Worth noting: If you desire the omakase tasting menu, you need to call in your reservation. Low himself will often explain each dish in the degustation menu while you sit at the chef’s table.
