Modern French cuisine with a twist

What makes it special? The name itself for a start. Joël Robuchon's restaurant empire has slowly but surely won over diners in Asia, arriving in Bangkok a few years ago. The restaurant follows a concept of fine French food delivered in an informal environment where chefs interact with diners.

Ambience: The restaurant is kept in dark hues of red and grey, creating a stylish dining environment. A long bar surrounds the open kitchen, allowing diners to see and interact with the chefs and providing a centrepiece for the restaurant.

Typical dishes: All the usual suspects of French cuisine are here, albeit with a modern and creative twist. The foie gras comes with spicy chutney while the lobster is accompanied by ginger-scented carrot mousse and the rib eye with wasabi spinach.

Chef sightings? Only for the lucky few. Joël Robuchon has left his Bangkok outpost in the capable hands of Olivier Limousin, whose charming character only adds to the dining experience. Prior to coming to Bangkok, Limousin helped open Table de Joël Robuchon in Paris in 2003 and L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in London in 2006.
