Call Me Al

Hong Kong, China

Extending the welcoming invitation in its Paul Simon-inspired name, the team at Call Me Al want their guests to feel at home. As such, there’s no pretension to the offering at this comfortable restaurant and bar, starting with the elegant, near-minimalist decor with its exposed ductwork and well-lit interior. The cocktail list is decidedly approachable, with drinks like the brilliantly-named Call Me Betty, a bright combination of gin, daikon, cucumber dill and lime, or the Long Time Listener, with a house rum blend joined by sherry, black tea, butter popcorn and more. The American and European influences on the drinks extend to the food offering, with options like duck leg confit with green lentils and braised cabbage or a smashed burger, and there’s a great wine list to accompany these.
