BKK Social Club

Bangkok

Buenos Aires meets Bangkok

Inspired by the parallels of Buenos Aires and Bangkok, BKK Social Club in the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is helmed by industry veteran and Berlin native Philip Bischoff, previously of Manhattan in Singapore. The focus is on glitz, glamour and good times, set in garden-like surrounds in which plants tumble from chandeliers and semi-outdoor courtyards provide a space to enjoy a cigar. The bar's emphasis on conviviality is clear from the moment you walk in the door, and the engaging hospitality is equally fantástico.

Where its previous menus drew inspiration from Argentina, its newest drinks list looks elsewhere in Latin America for inspiration, specifically the people, places and parties of Mexico City. Take the Chichen Itza, named after the historic Mayan landmark , in which BKK combines bourbon, pineapple, lime, strawberry, banana, sesame milk and coffee into a milk punch. The Frida Kahlo honours the late artist in a sour-style drink supercharged with lavender maple and maraschino. The new food menu expands further afield with Mexican fare sitting alongside Thai cuisine – expect spicy, sour, fresh and rich flavours. Bischoff aims to bridge these similarities while simultaneously introducing the Bangkok drinking crowd to agave-based spirits.

The libation lineup – largely made up of proprietary infusions and macerations – also has a dedicated bottled section and a hefty collection of champagne. It is one of the many reasons BKK Social Club earned the Michter's Art of Hospitality Award in 2022 and continues to be a stalwart of Asia's 50 Best Bars and The World's 50 Best Bars rankings.
