Kwãnt Mayfair

London

A cocktail oasis in the heart of London’s Mayfair

Re-opened in 2023 in a new and shiny venue – emerging from beneath a restaurant on Heddon Street to a large corner in Mayfair near Green Park station – Kwãnt (pronounced 'quaint') has found its home. Step inside, and you immediately feel like you're in sunnier climes, with a hand-painted Polynesian-inspired wall mural, fans lazily circulating the air, a cane ceiling, large palms in the windows and retro-style furniture. Guests can sit at the custom-made bar, with bartenders working at three stations around it, and there's also a special seat for solo guests.

Kwãnt is the vision of industry legend Erik Lorincz, who spent seven years at The Savoy: Lorincz was the 10th head bartender at the American Bar and oversaw its rise to be named The World's Best Bar in 2017. He opened the first iteration of Kwãnt in 2019. Less than a year later, it was named the winner of The Best New Opening Award, as part of The World's 50 Best Bars 2020.

The in-house hydroponically grown garnishes and bespoke Rona glassware are minimalist, allowing the flavour of the varied drinks to shine – expect everything from spirit-forward stirred concoctions, to lighter and fruitier spritzes, and a line-up of non-alcoholic drinks utilising just as much innovation and creativity. There's a focus on fermentation and unique distillates, as seen in drinks such as the signature See the Sea, made with gin, langoustine distillate, fino sherry, Cocchi Americano and sea oil. It's a clever, balanced and salty take on the martini.
