Decadente
Bogota, Colombia
Decadent by name, and nature. Tucked in Bogota’s headliner dining and drinks area – Zona G in the upscale Chapinero district – an evening in this little hideaway feels like a warm embrace. With low-key beats ringing out on speakers, polished vintage wood furnishings and sprays of red and gold lighting, Decadente is intimate, neighbourhoody in nature and focused on turning out great drinks. A Levitante combines rum, red vermouth, chocolate and bitter aperitif; another creation stars gin, kefir, honey toast, nutty white vermouth and shiitake mushrooms. Decor is stripped back and contemporary, with black banquette seating hugging a wall, a clutch of stools lining a bar topped with Anglepoise-style lamps, and tropical plants dotted here and there. With a vibe more akin to someone’s living room than a bar, it can quickly feel as though you’re spending the night at a Colombian house party.
