Parcelles

Paris, France

Parcelles is the height of Gallic chic, the kind of effortless cool that people the world round associate with Paris and Parisians. A tiny bistro a vin it has linen tablecloths, a copper-topped bar, a neutral-toned mosaic floor and windows to the street which fold back on warm summer days. As for the food, it's similarly simple and equally as effective with modern takes on bistro classics, like veal sweetbreads with hazelnut butter, mashed potatoes, gravy, capers and sage or tartlets made with figs from Solliés in Provence paired with mascarpone cream. The team here takes pride at making as many ingredients as possible in-house, to the point they recently opened an épicerie, selling an assortment of goods from rillettes, pâtés and cured meats to homemade pickles, curry powder and smoked paprika.
