Rosewood Munich
Munich, Germany
Rosewood has gone all out at its only hotel in Germany, occupying two Baroque buildings in the historic Old Town – the former headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria and the aristocratic Palais Neuhaus-Preysing. Rooms and suites have a more contemporary look than the façade indicates, featuring clean lines, marble bathrooms and plenty of natural light. Nevertheless, period details have been preserved to provide a sense of grandeur – from a statement staircase in the lobby to restored frescoes. The real highlight? The “houses” named after Bavarian royalty – five elegant suites with kitchenettes, vast living spaces, butler service and, in some cases, courtyard terraces. The two-storey Asaya Spa offers a city centre reset, while dining ranges from a lively brasserie, to afternoon tea in a winter garden, and live jazz at the glitzy Bar Montez. Guests can also join exclusive experiences, including private museum tours and a behind-the-scenes look at the brewing industry.
