The Dolli

Athens, Greece

The Dolli isn’t quite as old as its neighbour, the Acropolis, but after beginning life in 1925 as a private mansion, it remains a historic part of Athens' architecture. In contrast to its historic surroundings, the 46 rooms, suites and apartments feel slick and modern, with immaculate white interiors, custom minimalist furnishings and glossy marble bathrooms. It’s hard to go far in Athens without seeing a memento of ancient civilisation, but The Dolli further facilitates these sights: dine at the rooftop restaurant for a view of Hadrian’s Library, the pool’s looks out onto the Acropolis and Parthenon at its peak, or Junior Suites to wake up to wraparound city views from the Acropolis Luxury Junior Suites. For an aperitif, stop by art-strewn Le Salon for surounded by original Picassos and 18th-century antiques.
