The name may be generic, but the ambience and cooking at this family-style Guatemala City gem is anything but. The intimate, pared-back space is nice enough in the day, but it’s at night when it shines, as the pendant lights glow and a giant glitter globe spins. The perfect excuse to kick off proceedings with one of the spritzes, a cold beer or glass of natural wine. There are small plates and sharing options, the likes of burnt aubergine dip and straight-from-the-oven focaccia, but it’s the freshly made pasta which is the draw. One day it could be agnolotti filled with mascarpone, tomato and basil; the next, broccoli-stuffed ravioli drizzled with burnt chilli butter or a pappardelle ragu.
