Mandarin Oriental Milan

Milan, Italy

Bringing the Eastern brand’s signature hospitality to Italy’s style capital , the Mandarin Oriental Milan is an understated gem in the heart of Milano. Sprawled across four interconnected, 18th-century palazzo houses, its soberly dressed 104 rooms and suites are a hop and a skip away from the city’s bright lights. La Scala opera house is next door, and the Duomo and Via della Spiga shopping a saunter away. Heritage runs deep in the property: these buildings were once under the ownership of the banking dynasties that made Milan rich. Respecting that history, the MO group called in Italian design maestros Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors to blend the property's elegant Old World foundations with contemporary, classic touches. Rooms pair calming hues with touches of regal purple and dark-wood floors. Bathrooms are wrapped in Italian marble. Downstairs, a sultry subterranean spa offers a sanctuary from city life, and the two hotel restaurants dazzle. Prepare to have your head spun by the 70s-inspired geometrically tiled walls of the Mandarin Garden and be seduced by chef Antonio Guida’s country-cruising cuisine at Seta. The Italian restaurant made waves when it opened in the city, and continues to draw guests and locals alike.
