Top-notch spirits, accessible yet interesting cocktails, and some damn fine drinking food, all in a relaxed, irreverent setting – Amano is essentially the neighbourhood bar you always wanted. This second-floor jungle-like space was always going to have a decent selection of drinks behind the bar – its founders import various spirits into the country, which you can buy from the store within the bar. These are used to make a handful of fun, fruity cocktails. The food offering, meanwhile, spans everything from fish tacos to baby back ribs, via a selection of sliders. There’s an outdoor terrace too for some al fresco imbibing, which is perfect for larger gatherings too.
