With its gaudy red neon signage, you can’t miss this restaurant/wine bar in Warsaw’s beating heart. Though step inside and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled into a Parisian bistro, with walls bedecked with wine bottles and tables dressed with posies nudging chunky green banquettes. Led by Rafał Hreczaniuk, the menu borrows from the tradition further, though it remains rooted in the Polish kitchen. Dishes might include beetroot terrine with walnut and horseradish or roe deer with celeriac and forest fruits. Elsewhere, an exceptional wine list – the country’s largest – features many interesting local varieties.
