Doha’s scimitar-shaped Katara Towers represent an architectural marvel; inside the landmark building, Raffles continues its global legacy of top-notch hospitality. While the 37-storey hotel's crescent-shaped façade towers over Doha’s cityscape, its interiors are delicately adorned with marble masonry and mashrabiya latticework. Inside the 132 spacious suites, the experience continues with hand-carved ceilings, woven wool carpets and custom mattresses. The space features twin centrepieces: a jewellery-box dressing area shaped like a giant trunk, and a walk-in ‘maxibar’ complete with a bean-to-cup espresso machine. In the lobby, a diverse tea and coffee programme is served at the Malaki Lounge while Piedmontese restaurant Alba spotlights the techniques, wines and ingredients of northern Italy (if it’s on the menu, try the tagliolini burro e tartufo with white truffle). The cavernous literary themed Blue Cigar bar is also a destination unto itself: an onsite library contains more than 6,000 volumes including 200 first editions, along with the proper gloves and magnifying glasses for handling. One of the world’s finest cigar libraries, paired with Cuban bites and smoked cocktails, makes for a perfect place to unwind.
