The team behind Johannesburg’s Obscura want guests to experience a new perspective, whether that’s through the venue’s bold decor, top-notch service or next-level food and drink offering. Located in the city’s bustling Rosebank area, this spacious cocktail bar and eatery features striking, colourful design throughout – among the highlights is the private Dali Room, with images of its namesake artist and animal-print banquettes. Behind the drinks offering is industry star George Hunter, who has created a list of eye-catching cocktails with complex flavours. Examples include the Soul Candi Margarita with mango juice, jalapeño syrup, cucumber bitters and habanero tincture, or the Alchemy with mezcal, lime juice, coconut syrup, banana liqueur and tonka bean. There’s a selection of classic and non-alcoholic cocktails too, all accompanied by a selection of sharing plates and rounded out with a choice of one-bite desserts.
