Crimson Room

Bangkok, Thailand

A glamorous, red-hued paragon of a cabaret bar, where all signs point to revellry. Courtesy of the team behind the city’s lauded Rabbit Hole (No.31 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars List 2020), the evocative space – behind a nondescript wall at Velaa Sindhorn Village – speaks to the nostalgia of the Roaring Twenties with its green marble, polished wood, oversized chandeliers, velvet booths and deco theatre stage for live performances. Rabbit Hole’s Suwincha ‘Chacha’ Singsuwan is behind the nuanced drinks, split in his signature style into categories, here rotating around the life cycle of a stage show: Dim The Light; Raise The Curtain; The Band Strikes and Take a Bow. From elegant to punchy, picture-perfect presentation wins over the Instagram generation – see the cute-as-a-button Bee Pollen, an amber concoction served in a birdie glass, swathed in wildflowers and sipped from the bird’s tail and Orange Jasmine, which comes in a glass milk carton, a nod to milk punch.
