This one-time supper club helped put Shoreditch on the gastronomic map. Set within the old town hall and headed up by Scotsman Isaac McHale (who cut his teeth alongside René Redzepi at Noma and Brett Graham in The Ledbury), the informal space is designed to make guests feel at home. On the table, tasting menus marry British produce – including many forgotten ingredients – and globally inspired technique. Signatures include flamed Cornish mackerel and buttermilk-fried chicken with pine needle salt. It's all very precise, yet very accessible. Little wonder it took the UK's highest spot on the 2019 World’s 50 Best list.
