The Bamboo Room

Chicago, US

While the sweeping subterranean bar, Three Dots and a Dash, purports to focus on tiki cocktails, at the foot of the skull-lined stairs you'll find pocket bar The Bamboo Room, where specialty rum and rum cocktails shine in a different light. In the intimate 22-seat space, beverage director Kevin Beary and lead bartender Scott Kittsmiller have created an adventurous wonderland for fans of all things rum, rhum, and ron, with rare and special vintage bottles lining the back bar. The cocktail menu takes drinkers on a trip around the spirit's global diaspora, with classic rum cocktails like the 'Ti Punch sharing space with tiki classics flipped on their heads, like the stirred Jet Pilot. Most of the technical prowess of the bar takes place behind-the-scenes, allowing guests to marvel in the magic of the drinks without distraction.
