The bright, light dining room has a huge window onto Hudson Square making it the perfect place for people-watching over superlative food and wine. The focus for chef Ignacio Mattos is straightforward regional cooking, with no-nonsense dishes such as arancini, candele cacio e pepe, spaghetti pomodoro and grilled pork chop, all executed perfectly. The wine list is pleasingly concise, with Italy the star of the show. This place buzzes at both lunch and dinner, but no more so than during Aperitivo Hour in the late afternoon, when New Yorkers perch at the curved brass bar or one of the wooden tables for spritzes and spuntino.
