Manhatta
New York, US
Danny Meyer knows a thing or two about hospitality – he welcomed customers to his first restaurant four decades ago and through his Union Square Hospitality Group, he's opened everywhere from Gramercy Tavern and Michelin-starred The Modern to Shake Shack. Manhatta is his 60th floor tile-and-glass haven complete with sweeping views over Manhattan. Executive chef Justin Bogle – who has worked in world-class kitchens and was the youngest American chef, at age 28, to earn two Michelin stars – helms the kitchen. He oversees a three- or four-course prix-fixe dinner menu with its heart in classical techniques and global ingredients. Those here for lunch can go a la carte. The mostly French wine list has an impressive selection of white Burgundies; sophisticated cocktails are named after NYC neighbourhoods, encouraging diners to linger and make use of binoculars thoughtfully left on the windowsill.
