Lazy Bear

San Francisco, US

Thanks to an adoring public keen to indulge more frequently in a Modern American dinner party, pop-up supper club Lazy Bear now operates out of a permanent abode. Tickets for chef David Barzelay’s 15-course tasting experience are sold once a month. The meal, which has two seatings a night, starts with snacks such as tempura beer-battered maitake mushrooms upstairs in the loft. Head downstairs for the rest of the communal dining experience at an American elm table and savour smoked trout on cod roe or dry-aged Sonoma County duck, with the cooks describing the dishes to all the guests at the same time. The wine cellar houses more than 1,000 labels.
