This charming no-reservations spot in Abu Dhabi's waterfront Souk Al Mina has become a magnet for pizza lovers, with queues forming hours before opening to secure a slice from one of five rotating varieties. Bread fans rejoice: the kitchen also turns out its famous focaccia, served plain or stuffed. If it's available, go for the rosemary focaccia filled with beef speck, stracciatella, rocket and truffle honey. Enjoy the ocean air on the patio or queue for one of the handful of seats in the home-style dining room, complete with floral wallpaper and framed photos. Marmellata Bakery is run by father and son duo Raj and Sebastian Dagstani, who began with a humble one-day-a-week operation and still use hand-written signage and other personal touches to keep things intimate.
