Rōhen at The Arts Club
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
What do novelist Charles Dickens, musician Franz Liszt and artist Auguste Rodin have in common? They were all members of The Arts Club, which was founded in London in 1863 and has opened an outpost in Dubai. Conceptualised by CEO Ajaz Sheikh and chef Michael Hoepfl, Rōhen is the beating heart of the club. Menus are informed by Nikkei cuisine, and epitomised by dishes such as miso soup with palm hearts and freshly rolled sushi with spicy dipping sauce. The team has a keen eye for design and presentation is exquisite throughout: think oysters in their shells perched on a bed of dried chillies and cradling pearls of pink pepper.
