OGR Torino, the majestic late 19th-century industrial complex in the heart of Turin, was the protagonist of the city's growth for about a century. Following its closure in the early 1990s, abandonment and degradation led to plans for its demolition, which was later averted.
In 2013, the CRT Foundation purchased the H-shaped building measuring approximately 20,000-sq.m and 16-metres high, the offices and the open areas and, through the OGR-CRT Company, began its redevelopment.
A thousand days of construction work were necessary to give the city back its new beating heart of creativity, culture and entertainment projected towards the world. An investment of €100m invested by the CRT Foundation for the rebirth of OGR Torino, the 'cathedral' of Turin's industrial history.
High-tech solutions, environmental sustainability, protection of historical value, flexibility of spaces and accessibility for all are the inspiring principles of the major renovation and recovery project of the OGR: from former workshops for the repair of trains to new workshops of contemporary culture, innovation and business acceleration with an international vocation.
