Sydney’s Double Bay has been rapidly earning a reputation as one of the city’s hospitality hotbeds, and Bobbie’s will be the latest enhance to this standing. Behind the project is a partnership between local hospitality mogul Neil Perry and Aussie-born Linden Pride, the mastermind behind The World’s Best Bar 2019: Dante in New York.

The bar takes its name from Pride’s grandfather, renowned Australian radio broadcaster Bob Rogers, and its drinks offering will offer a timeless cocktail experience to match. Laut, Singapore
Laut-FortuneCentre-Interior-
After a short-lived debut in 2020, Laut is back with a new space and concept

Estimated opening
: February 2024

Originally opened in 2020, Laut’s doors were prematurely closed due to the pandemic – so the bar now returns with a point to prove. Helmed by Leon Tan, an alumnus of Singapore favourite Native, Laut’s team has used the years since its closure to hone its offering and concept, pulling inspiration from the seafaring pioneers that historically inhabited the trading-post city.

Its 2024 iteration will make the most of micro-seasonality and local ingredients, drawing from the aromas and diverse pantry of Southeast Asia, experienced in drinks such as Grass, comprising juniper, ginger flowers, rice vinegar and kombucha. Alongside the inventive drinks list, Laut will also offer a range of seasonal bar bites, such as the Pisang (Malay for banana): a trio of fritters inspired by the iconic stalls of the surrounding peninsula.

A post shared by W🔶RE🟥🔵US (@bauhaus_warehaus)

Estimated opening: April 2024

After a duo of successful openings in his home nation of France, in the form of artistic Parisian drinkery Bar Nouveau and Abstract Bistrot in Lyon, Remy Savage’s latest venture sees him return to his London base.

In true Savage style, the newest addition to his growing bar empire is actually the fully functional warehouse, storage unit and ice factory for the lauded 🔶🟥🔵, aka A Bar with Shapes for a Name (No.35 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023). When Bauhaus Warehaus opens to the public, it will still fulfil its original purpose of supplying the flagship bar. But, as Savage himself states: “It seemed silly not to have you guys come and have a drink on top of the production line.”

To reflect this, the bar will span two floors, with each storey housing its own menu and concept. Together with a food offer curated by Manu Buffara (Latin America’s Best Female Chef 2022), Exímia aims to showcase the best of Brazil.

Inés de los Santos of the beloved CoChinChina in Buenos Aires (No.26 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023) is expanding her growing influence within the Argentinian capital with this upcoming bar, set on one of the city’s most iconic streets, La Costanera. The aptly named Costa, which will sprawl over 900 square metres, will be de los Santos’ biggest project to date, featuring plenty of exposed stone across a hybrid of indoor and outdoor spaces.

De los Santos’ astute drinks programme will be paired with a menu by chef Pedro Bargero, previously of the now-shuttered Chila, to create a rounded hospitality package that delivers on both style and substance. The final piece of the puzzle? A world-class sound system to keep the reggaeton soundtrack playing all night long.

Schmuck, New York
new bar opening-schmuck
Moe Aljaff and Juliette Laroui have settled in New York to open Schmuck

Estimated opening
: Mid-2024

Following their departure from high-ranking Barcelona bar Two Schmucks in 2022, Moe Aljaff and Juliette Laroui have been roaming the world as cocktail nomads in search of a new home. After a plethora of guest shifts around the world, in late 2023 they announced their new permanent residence in New York’s East Village, set to open in partnership with Dan Binkiewicz of Sweet Liberty Drinks in Miami.

Since obtaining the keys to the venue, Aljaff and Laroui have been rebuilding the space from the ground up, assembling an A-team of designers, artists and fashionistas to create a cultural hub that extends beyond just a space for great cocktails (of which there will be many). “What we did in Barcelona was a reflection of who I was in my 20s,” Aljaff says. “Now, we want to do something that reflects who we are today, and we can’t wait to explore what that looks like: something completely different than what we’ve done before.”
