The global cocktail community gathered in Hong Kong for the reveal of The World's 50 Best Bars 2025, sponsored by Perrier. Here are some of the most memorable moments from the exciting events programme.

Following editions in London, Barcelona, Singapore and Madrid, The World's 50 Best Bars 2025 assembled the teams behind the world's most coveted cocktails spots for the reveal of the brand-new ranking.

Taking place from 4-9 October, the 2025 events programme was the largest to date, with events ranging from one-time-only collaborations between world-leading bars and restaurants through to ecstatic celebrations surrounding record-breaking achievements. Graduates, unite!

Kicking off the 2025 event programme was the return of 50 Best Signature Sessions, the series of collaborations between world-leading hospitality talent, hosted at some of Hong Kong's hottest spots. One of the first events saw the three winners of the 50 Best Bars Scholarship from 2022 to 2024, Calliope Draper, Apoorva Kohli and Drew Fleming (left to right), join forces. Hosted at fun-time bar Call Me Al, the evening celebrated their burgeoning careers so far.

The world's favourite cocktail supergroup

The following day, another 50 Best Signature Session brought together winners of the Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award, a peer-voted accolade that celebrates remarkable individuals in the bar world.

The stellar line-up included Renato 'Tato' Giovannoni from Florería Atlántico (No.90), newly crowned winner for 2025 Uno Jang of Jigger & Pony (No.9), Speed Rack founder Lynnette Marrero and GN Chan, co-founder of Double Chicken Please in New York (No.41), alongside a special guest appearance from 2023's winner Jean Trinh of Cartagena's Alquímico (No.12). Together, they shook up a storm at Gokan, the Hong Kong outlet of another former recipient, Shingo Gokan.

A taste of Malaysia comes to Hong Kong

The team behind Backdoor Bodega, whose cocktail list that doubles as a travel guide, took home the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award as part of The World's 50 Best Bars 2025, collaborated with host bar The Savory Project to deliver a one-time-only session of drinks inspired by the island of Penang.

Fans out at the Bartenders' Feast

The day before the awards ceremony, the teams behind the soon-to-be-ranked bars assembled at Swim Club, located on the 50th floor of the newly opened Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui hotel for the Bartenders' Feast. Cocktails came courtesy of Mirror Bar from Bratislava (No.25 in The World's 50 Best Bars 2025) and Tjoget in Stockholm (No.76), alongside panoramas over Hong Kong Island's glittering skyline and bespoke 50 Best fans, modelled by Trinh.

The world's best bar teams arrive in style

The highly anticipated awards night arrived, and spirits were high at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. Emilie Mette Lillelund, Giacomo Giannotti and Gabriele Armani (left to right) from Paradiso in Barcelona hit the red carpet in anticipation, donning the 50 Best signature red scarf, ahead of their bar being named No.4.

Traditional Chinese celebrations kick off the show

The awards show began with the banging of drums and a colourful lion dance to mark the auspicious occasion and ensure that good fortune found the bar teams awaiting the upcoming ranking reveal.

Bar Mauro takes Mexican-Milanese cocktails to the global stage

The two brothers behind Bar Mauro in Mexico City were living in the moment as their cocktail spot, which pays homage to their Milanese grandfather, landed at No.54 in the extended ranking just one year into its existence. This was followed by greater elation and disbelief when it was named winner of the Campari One To Watch Award 2025.

Eastern Europe shoots into the ranking

It was a momentous evening for Mirror Bar, whose debut into the list at No.25 earned it the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award 2025. It also marked the first ever establishment from Slovakia to enter the 1-50 ranking. Na zdravie!

Big smiles from the three monkeys

The three monkeys behind Tres Monos – Charly Aguinsky, Sebastian Atienza and Gus Vocke – were all smiles as their Buenos Aires bar was once again named The Best Bar in South America 2025, sponsored by Torres Brandy.

Bar Leone roars to the top

The fairytale came true for Bar Leone. After retaining its No.1 spot in Asia's 50 Best Bars earlier this year, the bar took the final step jumping one position from 2024 to be named The World's Best Bar 2025, sponsored by Perrier. Lorenzo Antinori, one of the bar's co-founders, was quickly swamped by his Italian compatriots, eager to celebrate the achievement.

Goodbyes from the highest bar in Asia

The bar teams bid farewell to the year's events with a brunch hosted at Ozone inside the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Perched on the 118th floor, the space provided unparalleled views over Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour, with Marcio Silva from Exímia (No.61) in São Paulo and Diego Macedo (left to right) of Lima's Sastrería Martinez (No.33) savouring the final moments of the 50 Best Closing Party together.

See you next year!
