Here's everything you missed from The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2015

Laura Price - 03/06/2015

There were Ellen-at-the-Oscars-style selfies, copious amounts of chef hugs and one hell of an After Party. The awards are over for another year, but you can you catch up here on everything you missed from The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2015.

It all started on Sunday night with the Chefs' Feast at Fera at Claridge's. Simon Rogan bravely took on the task of cooking for 100 of the world's finest chefs and restaurateurs, who arrived in London over the weekend from around the globe.

The guests at the Feast recorded a little message for each other...

On Monday, French chefs from all over gathered at Rivea restaurant at the Bulgari Hotel for a slap-up celebration of French gastronomy, hosted by none other than the legendary Alain Ducasse of Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée (No.47).

In attendance were some of France's finest exports, including Daniel Boulud, winner of the Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award 2015, and Paul Pairet from Ultraviolet in Shanghai – a new entry to The World's 50 Best Restaurants list at No.24.

On Monday evening, the VIP guests started arriving at the historic Guildhall in London – its last time hosting The World's 50 Best Restaurants, after six fantastic years. Here's Albert Adrià, The World's Best Pastry Chef 2015, sponsored by Cacao Barry, with last year's No.1, René Redzepi of Noma (now No.3).

Despite officially being the first day of Summer, the British weather lived up to the stereotype, and guests from more tropical climes shivered their way down the red carpet to warm up with a few strong cocktails. Sven Elverfeld of Aqua (No.33) looked particularly chilly.

In typical fashion, there was much chef-hugging, including this back slap moment from good pals Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park (No.5) and André Chiang of Restaurant André (No.46).

And of course, it wouldn't be a global gathering of the biggest hitters on the restaurant scene without a few chef selfies – René Redzepi of Noma was more than happy to oblige, with Thomas Keller of Per Se (No.40) and The French Laundry (No.50) and Daniel Boulud of Restaurant Daniel in New York (No.82).

And then there was the awards ceremony... you can catch up on all the congratulatory tweets and action shots here:

Just in case you missed the result, El Celler de Can Roca was crowned the new No.1 in The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2015 – here's the moment Joan, Josep and Jordi collected their award on stage:

And then it was on to the After Party in the crypt of the Guildhall, hosted by Mexico in preparation for Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants 2015.

The mescal was in full flow and we even drafted in a few special guests from Mexico – here's Édgar Nuñez from Sud777 in Mexico City (No.24 in Latin America's 50 Best), with Gerard Bellver of Biko (No.37 in The World's 50 Best) and Elena Reygadas (Veuve Clicquot Latin America's Best Female Chef 2014 and owner of Rosetta, No.33 in Latin America's 50 Best).

Edgar

Our chefs were certainly in celebratory mode – here's Mauro Colagreco of Mirazur (No.11) and Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana (No.2) enjoying a glass of the Veuve Clicquot... cheers!

Massimo

So that's it for another year. Congratulations to all the chefs and restaurateurs, and see you in New York for The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2016!
