Housed in the glamorous Rosewood Hong Kong, Darkside takes its name from the colloquial moniker for the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, where the hotel is located. Taking inspiration from all things dark, the bar focuses on dark spirits, cigars and chocolate which, when combined with the live music, makes for an altogether elegant experience. A fantastic view over Victoria Harbour and high-end art adorning the walls work in synergy with the venue’s soundtrack of nightly vocalists of varying genres.

 

Classics are the name of the game here, with bar manager Miguel Fernandez overseeing the drinks programme. The bar has its own specially sourced cask of grande Champagne cognac and exclusive cask-aged port, both of which you can taste from barrel to glass. The gibson here is a star in its own right, with your choice of a vodka or gin base, riesling wine, vermouth secco and bianco, sherry and onion essence. If the mood for something shorter strikes, don’t hesitate to explore its serious collection of whiskies.
