Southside Parlor

Seoul

New Entry

This stalwart was one of South Korea’s earliest craft cocktail bars, bringing Texan hospitality to the country’s capital of Seoul. Led by Texan Phil Abowd, the venue is reminiscent of an upscale American sports bar, featuring an arcade game console, darts and big leather sofas, but serving up drinks far from what you’d expect at one such haunt.

The bar’s signature Chiquita Pepita gives the classic Tommy’s Margarita a local twist using Korean green chili and pepper powder paired with nods to Abowd’s Texan upbringing. Cucumber-infused tequila balances out this refreshing and spicy sipper, topped with a red-pepper sprinkled cucumber ribbon. Southside Parlor may be a contrast to the glitz of Gangnam, but welcomes patrons with open arms, expertly crafted cocktails and, of course, great tacos.
