Picarón

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Picarón marries the best of Buenos Aires' cultural smorgasbord with the chic, small plates bistro vibe of so many European cities. It’s buzzy and stylish – with a wall stacked full of niche wine bottles, spotlighting the team's knowledge of bold (and interesting) blends – but it's also exciting, sporting an open kitchen that dishes up achingly cool, and supremely delicious, sharing plates. At lunch, there’s a first-come, first-served set menu that's frankly, fantastic value, but at night, it’s only a la carte. Kick off with a dish of the restaurant's namesake picarones: spicy sweet potato fritters with nduja and honey before filling the table with just-pink rib eye steak, Patagonian scallops or fluffy mushroom onigiri, all made with standout ingredients.
