Victor Audio Bar
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The creators of Tres Monos and Niño Gordo have joined forces for Victor Audio Bar, Buenos Aires' first listening bar. Inspired by the RCA Victor label and the audio bars of 1960s Japan, the space appears conspicuously housed in a Palermo Soho townhouse, but the inside reveals a carefully curated retro New York City vibe. Dressed in fine wood panels, leather seats and shelves of mid century modern lamps, the private club aesthetic is anchored by its star attraction: a headphone-operated jukebox that lets each guest choose and listen to their own song without disturbing the room. The martini-themed cocktail menu, on the other hand, is made to be shared. Designed by the Tres Monos team, it traces the dry cocktail's history from its ancestor the martinez through to the porn star, alongside classics like the sazerac and aviation. The Niño Gordo team packs the American favourites onto the food menu: think mac and cheese, fried chicken and even entrecote with a basket of golden fries.
