Downstairs from Fred's restaurant in Paddington, you'll find Charlie Parker's, an innovative basement bar serving cocktails with a botanical bent. The list is split into four sections: 'Nut & Fruit', 'Stem & Branch', ‘Leaf & Flower' and 'Root & Soil', with each drink utilising unusual and homemade ingredients. Take the ‘Salted Grapefruit’ for example, a complex blend of sherry, lemon myrtle verjus and tequila or the ‘Fig Leaf’, combining vermouth, Bénédictine, absinthe and olive leaf. There's also a decent non-boozy selection on offer.
