Sáng By Mabasa

Sydney, Australia

Sáng is tucked away in Surry Hills, but is well worth seeking out. Its dining room has just two seating options: communal tables or counter stools, so maybe skip this one if you're after a private conversation. If you're in the market for an exceptional family-run Korean restaurant though, this is probably the place for you. It's easy to dabble in excellent versions of better-known Korean dishes like plump Kun Mandu pork dumplings or perfectly-crisped bibimbap, but there's also scope here to go off-grid and indulge in some more niche delicacies like Bokkeum Jokbal (braised and stir-fried pig’s trotters) or Sogogi Suyuk (boiled beef shank and tendon with garlic chives). If you'd like to leave your choices in the hands of the pros then you can opt for the 'Feed Me' menu, where the team will do just that. It's also worth nothing that Sáng is BYOB with a $10 corkage fee.
