Named after jazz era icon Sammy Davis Jr., this bar comes from the team behind Sydney’s much-lauded Maybe Frank, named after Sinatra. Sammy, however, is all about creative cocktails and debuted on The World's 50 Best Bars list in 2019 as The Best Bar in Australasia. A regularly changing menu features eight signature sips, as well as a rotating list of minis (small classics for just $10). The space is opulent, with pink velvet banquettes, gold and brass fittings, marble tiles and lots of indoor plants – even the bartenders are kitted out in pale-pink dinner jackets. Bar snacks come in the form of oysters with mandarin granita, cheese, charcuterie and moreish tacos.
