Murakami

São Paulo, Brazil

After moving to Brazil from Hokkaido as a young child, chef Tsuyoshi Murakami later returned to his native Japan to study the cuisine, before working in restaurants in Tokyo, New York and Barcelona and finally returning to São Paulo. Following many years working at his father-in-law’s acclaimed Kinoshita, in 2019 he opened Murakami, an intimate, single-counter restaurant serving a six-course daily omakase tasting menu of beautiful bites such as bluefin tuna sashimi with miso and egg yolk, or langoustine with caviar. Murakami’s wife, Suzana Kinoshita, makes delicious desserts such as chocolate and matcha mochi, while son Jun cooks and serves at the counter alongside his father. Don’t miss the excellent wine or sake pairing.
