Murakami
São Paulo, Brazil
After moving to Brazil from Hokkaido as a young child, chef Tsuyoshi Murakami later returned to his native Japan to study the cuisine, before working in restaurants in Tokyo, New York and Barcelona, and finally returning to São Paulo. Following many years at his father‑in‑law's acclaimed Kinoshita, he opened Murakami in 2019: an intimate, single‑counter restaurant serving a ten‑course daily omakase of beautiful bites and authorial cuisine. Alongside the tasting menu sits a sushi experience that consists of three appetizers, or zensai, twelve courses of nigiri, one handroll, tempura and a hot dish, all prepared with fresh wasabi and the utmost care. Murakami prides itself on having a live menu – one that is born and dies every night – based on the best products of the day, so no one roll is ever the same. Don't miss the excellent wine or sake pairing.
