Xin Rong Ji (Xinyuan South Road)
Beijing, China
- No.68 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2022
Xin Rong Ji began as a single restaurant in 1995 and has since grown to a collection of over 30 locations across China. This outpost is arguably its most lavish expression, serving signature dishes such as soy-braised sea cucumber and Mongolian lamb that is first cured then roasted alongside an exclusive crispy Peking duck. The setting embraces the grandeur of traditional Chinese banqueting, with tanks of live seafood and displays of curing abalone and fish maw on show. There's also a dedicated pescatarian menu, where rare mushrooms such as litchi and matsutake share the spotlight with seasonal seafood including mantis shrimp and yellow croaker. The wine list includes notable Chinese producers, with pairings available alongside the restaurant's themed prix fixe menus.
