Fook Lam Moon
Hong Kong, China
Fook Lam Moon has been a Hong Kong go-to for classic, old-school Cantonese food since 1972. Its original and flagship branch in Wan Chai offers several different menus over its four floors, including business and VIP Grand Feasts for groups of up to 150 diners. Though the decor is unassuming – though do take a peek at the glass cabinets along the walls displaying vintage wines and prized edible delicacies – the food is anything but. The menu is long and covers every base, from seafood and stir-fries to rich meat dishes, as well as rice and noodles in delicate broths. The dim sum is a standout, the steamed pork dumplings, cha siu buns and deep-fried bean curd skin with prawns especially. House specials include braised whole Yoshihama abalone, double-boiled bird's nest with coconut milk, a whole roasted suckling pig and crispy fried chicken.
