Xin Rong Ji

Hong Kong, China

The second branch of a Shanghai restaurant, Xin Rong Ji focuses on Shanghainese, or Taizhou, cuisine in an elegant setting with bonsai plants and solid wood tables. As Taizhou is known for its seafood, there is little meat or poultry on the menu. A short à la carte includes sautéed rice cakes with cuttlefish and their ink, fresh seafood such as jellyfish, radish chips and smoky, braised tofu with preserved pork. Don’t miss the Peking duck, skilfully carved tableside, and try a dessert of steamed buns with pork lard.
