Created by bartenders Dominik Bečvardi and Mišel Posavac, Zagreb’s Peaches & Cream, located just moments from the Trešnjevka market, has become a cornerstone of the city’s cocktail culture in the few years since it first opened its doors. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and accomplished cocktails as much as it is its eclectic approach to decor – televisions show classic cartoons on repeat, for example – this inviting bar doesn’t take itself too seriously, although there’s nothing trivial about the cocktails on offer. The menu changes twice a year, ensuring a seasonal approach, and making use of the latest techniques and ingredients. There’s something for everyone, with recent examples including the Green Card with apple, cardamom, vetiver and soda, or the Slightly Famous, blending honey, chamomile and orange. Guests are encouraged to go beyond the menu too, with bespoke cocktails tailored to individual tastes. These can be enjoyed either in the bar or on the spacious terrace.
