Le Comptoir

Paris, France

Housed in Paris’ small-but-perfectly-formed Hôtel Le Relais Saint-Germain, Le Comptoir has over the years gone from being the new buzzword in town to a tried-and-trusted classic. ‘Bistronomy’ pioneer Yves Camdeborde is at the helm, presiding over an elegant, art deco-style dining room generally booked up six months in advance for evenings. Lunches consist of top-notch brasserie favourites – garlicky snails, crusty bread, eat-all-you-want house terrine – while a single dinner sitting allows Camdeborde to go to town with up to five courses of indulgent haute cuisine. If you miss out on dining, the bar area, L’Avant Comptoir, offers excellent tapas.
