Sherry Butt

Paris, France

A veteran of the Paris bar scene, Sherry Butt takes its name from the casks used to mature sherry, which often go on to age whisky. The latter is the spirit of choice here, with a selection that spans the globe. The bar offers a number of country-themed flights, including a world-whisky flight that covers India, Australia, Japan and Taiwan – a great way to explore the broad and wonderful world of whisky. This is an excellent setting for it too, with moody lighting, plenty of wood and exposed brick, and a cocktail menu presented on a large chalkboard behind the bar. This compact list of drinks has something for everyone, extending well beyond the bar’s whisky specialisation, and taking inspiration from far and wide. A case in point is Frequency, with calvados, umeshu, Campari and verjus.
