Cookies Cream

Berlin, Germany

When it opened in 2007, Cookies Cream was the first fine dining restaurant in Berlin to serve exclusively vegetarian food. Today, chef Stephan Hentschel also offers an excellent vegan tasting menu, as well as a collection of signature dishes such as Parmesan dumplings and miso cucumber with seaweed caviar. Much of it is sourced from a single farm in Brandenburg, with the summer harvest prolonged throughout the year thanks to pickling and fermenting. The non-alcoholic drinks pairings – created by top mixologist Grahame Woods – are particularly interesting, with flavours such as cucumber relish and sea buckthorn and acacia wood kombucha. The glitter balls in the dining room reference the building’s history as one of Mitte’s most famous nightclubs and the entrance is tucked away down several industrial looking alleyways.
