Adrift Kaya at JW Marriott Hotel

Set within the luxurious JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, Adrift Kaya is TV chef and prolific restaurateur Dave Myers' latest outpost of his Japanese flagship. Born in Boston but having spent significant time in Tokyo, this is Myers' first izakaya - a super-fancy incarnation of the classic Japanese drinking dens. Dominated by a vast central bar built around a tree sculpture, the room contrasts indigo wooden floors with textured concrete walls surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the restaurant's relaxed terrace area. Food-wise, all the usual drinking snack suspects feature, from gyoza to chicken karage alongside a selection of maki rolls and simple but stunning nigiri. The cocktail list is also a winner, sitting alongside a choice of beer, wine and sake and bolstered by an impressive collection of Japanese whiskies.
