Bar Basso

Milan, Italy

Seemingly untouched by time, Bar Basso has been a stalwart of the Milan drinking scene for 50 years, not to mention an important meeting point for the city’s design community. If you only have one drink here, make it the Negroni Sbagliato – it was invented here, after all. Legend has it that founder Mirko Stocchetto’s sbagliato, or mistake, was reaching for a bottle of prosecco instead of gin when making a Negroni, and the rest is history. He went on to design glassware to hold this now-iconic drink too. Once you’ve had one, choose from among the 100 other drinks that Stocchetto is said to have invented.
